The Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC-WH) participated in the international meeting organized by UNESCO at its headquarters in Paris, France, on Monday, 30 September 2024. The meeting focused on improving international coordination and the effectiveness of responses to protect cultural heritage in emergency situations. The Centre was represented by Mr. Rashad Faraj, Director of the Regional Centre, and Dr. Mounir Bouchenaki, Advisor to the Centre.

Attended by experts from institutions and organizations dedicated to heritage protection, the meeting aimed to strengthen international efforts to safeguard cultural heritage during conflicts, natural disasters, and humanitarian crises. It provided a vital platform for sharing experiences and lessons learned from past incidents to ensure the protection of humanity’s cultural legacy and reinforce its role in relief and reconstruction efforts.

This event aligns with ARC-WH’s ongoing commitment to preserving cultural heritage across the Arab region, particularly in times of crisis, when safeguarding heritage contributes to resilience and recovery.
